Student Testimonials

Tom Birdsall

BSc(Hons) Air Transport Management (Top-up)

Tom Birdsall Tom studied on the BSc (Hons) Air Transport Management at Leeds Bradford international Airport. He successfully achieved a 2;1 classification and was the winner of the TUI HE Prize for Personal Development and Employability Skills. He loved the fact that the course had a direct link to the airport and this gave him the opportunity to go straight into employment.

Max Napoli

Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Operations

We learn about everything aviation-related - the airport, the airfield, the airline - everything.

When I started here I wanted to be an engineer. We started learning more and more about aircraft so now I'm training to be an airline pilot. If you're not sure about what part of aviation you want to go into, it's ideal. Without this course I wouldn't have had a clue about how to even try to become a pilot. We have two weeks work experience in Malta at Lucca International Airport - it's a huge airport. The work experience give you a great insight into what goes on at a proper airport.

Russell Pink

BSc(Hons) Air Transport Management (Top-up)

Russell moved from Wales especially to study Air Transport Management BSc (Hons) at The Aviation Academy. Russell is now based in London and works for British Airways

"I am getting nearer to achieving my life’s dream of becoming an airline pilot. Studying at The Aviation Academy was excellent because it is airside at Leeds Bradford Airport, so you really feel that you are part of the industry as you have to pass security on your way in and dress and behave like a professional. The industry knowledge of the staff was also really great – I was taught by an Airport Director, an Airline Operations Manager as well as practising pilots!’

Holly Stafford

Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Operations

I've been with British Airways for just over a year now. I'm looking at taking a secondment within British Airways to become a trainer in either safety/security or medical training - I owe it to Craven College’s Aviation Academy for getting me to where I am today.
