The Travel & Aviation Academy has arrived in Skipton

Craven College is pleased to announce that The Travel & Aviation Academy has arrived at its Aireville Campus in Skipton.

The Aviation Academy, part of Craven College, opened in September 2005 with a unique airside campus at Leeds Bradford International Airport. Now the college is providing its award winning expertise and industry links in Skipton alongside its Travel Division, for students who find it difficult to travel to Leeds Bradford International Airport.

Students will now be able to benefit from industry specialist tutors in Skipton and be part of the high quality training of aviation specialists to support the industry. The Aviation Academy has close working relationships with a number of organisations including Jet2.com, Tui, Servisair and Malta Airport who are supporting Craven College with the opening in Skipton.

Facilities will include Jet2.com, Tui and Servisair branded rooms, a mock cabin and facilities that will replicate an airport waiting lounge. There will be a full range of specialist courses which will prepare students for a variety of careers including cabin crew, airport ground crew, passenger service agents, air traffic control, aeronautical engineering, pilot, airline and airport management. Programmes are designed in collaboration with industry partners.

Tina Gale, Manager for The Travel & Aviation Academy says:

‘It is fantastic that we are able to extend our excellent provision for students from a wider geographical area who are looking for a career in aviation or travel. We are also responding to our industry partners who are looking for employees at Manchester Airport and Leeds Bradford international Airport.

The Travel & Aviation Academy in Skipton will be officially opened by Ian Doubtfire, Managing Director of Jet2.com in March. Applications are now been taken for courses starting in September 2012.
